Apple Gets Major Points in My Book

One thing my wife and I are very passionate about, but I rarely, if ever, blog about (I should change that), is that we home school our children.  I can get into the why in another blog post, but suffice to say, it has been one of the most fulfilling endeavors of our lives.

I am going to be replacing my laptop and my wife's desktop with Apple products.  I want to get a Mac Book Pro, and my wife is leaning towards a Mac Book.  While I was looking around at prices today, a friend pointed me to the education section of their site. I was stunned to see this, where Apple offers the same educational discount for home schools as other educational institutions.

It is refreshing to see companies like Apple offering discounts like this.  I hope more companied follow their lead.

It is great to see Apple doing this, but that's Apple for you; it practices what it preaches: "THINK DIFFERENT!"

You definitely should share how home schooling has worked so well for you. I was always curious to know what the reasons were. Definitely make the time for a post on it please! Hope all is well my friend.

Apple seems to have been pro-homeschool for quite awhile. I was homeschooled, and going all the way back to elementary school, our homeschooling organization was able to participate in the Apples for the Students program, and got several computers out of it. Apple was pretty smart in implementing that program, they raised a whole generation of kids who learned on Apple.

@Rachel - That is good to know. I am not too proud to admit that when we first discussed homeschooling, I was against it. I am glad we decided to go for it as it has been a wonderful experience for both of my kids and my wife and I as well.
