FireBug is the schizzle!

If you are doing any kind of JavaScript, especially AJAX, development and you are not using the FireBug plugin for FireFox, shame on you.

I have been using FireBug for quite a while and today I learned about a nifty new feature (Thanks Doug!).  I was having issues with an AJAX call where a ColdFusion error was being returned. If you right-click the entry with the GET, you can select 'Open in new tab' and FireBug will make the HTTP request in a new tab so you can see any error messages more clearly, rather than having to decipher the HTML returned.

Sweet!

Ben Nadel's Gravatar I second that! FireBug has made development SOOOO much easier. I love being able to inspect the "Real Time" document object model, see the total download bandwhich of the page, see all the 404s, turn on and off CSS on the fly, check network activity including AJAX calls... if you are not on FireBug yet, you are missing out.

Mary Jo Sminkey's Gravatar Yeah, between Firebug and the Web Developer Plugin, I don't know how I'd get my work done so fast! I just ran into a developer today that was not only using IE but didn't even have Firefox installed! Sad, sad.

Rob Wilkerson's Gravatar Oh, zang! I've been using Firebug for a while, but didn't know about that little feature. I hate finding out I've been doing things the hard way for far too long.

Thanks.
