Made it to the hotel. Where is everyone?

Are you ready for some football? (American Style)

In a few weeks, the American football season starts.  I am an avid fan of the sport, and I also tend to join the occasional office pool to try and keep me interested when my team, the New York Giants, is not playing.

A few weeks ago, a friend of mine asked me if I would be interested in joining a pool he ran a few years ago, and if I would mind setting up a website like I had done in previous years.  The pool is simple, as football pools go.

You choose 2 teams each week.  The teams you choose are the teams that you feel will win by the most points.  There is no spread, no 'over/under', you just pick the teams you think will win big.  You must pick 2 teams each week, and you cannot pick a team more than twice in the season.  The only way this could be simpler would be if you only had to choose one team, and you could choose a team as often as you like.

If it sounds like you may be interested, check out MOVPool.com for more details, and some advice on how to make your picks.  Hurry, though, the deadline to enter is Sept. 7th.

Do you know if there are any webservices that publish scores for NFL games?

Bob - Unfortunately, I do not. I looked around for a feed that publishes golf scores (for another pool I am working on), but the only ones I could find were fee based, and they were not cheap.

I don't know about you Scott, but here in the Mile High city, we already have football. Denver (the city) stomped the crap out of Tennessee (the state) in the second pre-season game. It will be intersting to see how they do against Houston.

Gary,

I try not to get too excited over pre-season games. I'll watch them, but rarely does it mean anything. I can remember the Jets finishing 4-0 in pre-season a few times, and nothing ever came of it.
