Flogr News

I know its been a while since I did any work with Flogr, but, unfortunately, that pesky little thing called life kept getting in the way.  So, here is some news.

  • I have decided to host information about Flogr on RIAForge.org. RIAForge is a site dedicated to hosting projects that use Adobe Technologies.
  • A new version of Flogr is available here.

A few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to attend 2 Flex classes being conducted at my employer, AboutWeb.  During the class I realised that while it may have looked good, and functioned as I wanted it to, Flogr was not written very well.  (What do you expect, I was learning Flex as I wrote Flogr).  I decided that I was going to rewrite Flogr to try and  incorporate some 'best practices'.  The UI pretty much remains the same, as does the functionality, but some things have changed:

  • Icons have been added to the 'Severity' column to make it easier to tell if the log file entry is an 'Error', "warning', etc...
  • Filtering is now done in real time.  For example, as you type keywords into the search box, you will see the list of data getting smaller with each keystroke.

I will post news about Flogr on this site, and on the Flogr forums.

The current version available on RIAForge does not have any charting.  I am not quite pleased with the charting yet, however, I wanted to get the current version out since there are some neat new things available.

Due to some internal network issues, the Flogr demo is not currently available.  I am working an getting another demo site set up.
