Second Practice Round and last day

We spent a bit more time at the course on Tuesday.  We were able to use the disability carts to get around since my son has Cerebral Palsy...unfotuantely, they still didn't fare too well in the heat (96 when we left)

We got to the course fairly early and saw quite a few guys on the practice area, including Vijay Singh and Mike Wier.  Phil Mickelson and Tiger had already teed off.  We waited at the 18th hole in hopes of Phil signing an autograph, but since he teed of on the 10th hole, he did not stop for autographs.

We took a cart out to the 9th green to wait for him.  While there we sae quite a few guys.  Charles Howell III, Shigeki Murayama, Lee Janzen, Vijay and others.

As Phil got closer, the crowd around the 9th hole got bigger...dare I say... bigger than the crowd that followed Tiger the day before.  Phil took the time to sign quite a few autographs after his round (we got one...anothe entry to follow on that).  After he left, so did we...the kids were hot, tired and bored...a lethal combination in anyone under 12.

We had lunch in the village of Pinehurst at Dugan's Pub...if you are ever in Pinehurst, check out Dugan's...the food and service were fantastic.

On teh way back to the hotel, we discussed different plans on how to handle th erest of the week...there was no way the kids would last more than a few hours at the course.  We made several phone calls to see if anyone would be interested in flying down, at our expense, to go on the weekend...no takers.

The plan we went with was to see if we could find someone who would buy (or even take) the tickets, and we would head back north.  If you might be interested in tickets for Sunday (I have a lead for Friday and Saturday), let me know, and I can overnight them.

We left the hotel yesterday morning and headed to Paramount Kings Dominion just outside of Richmond, VA.  We had a great time (another entry to follow).  Its kind of funny to think that in the beginning of the week we were able to see my favorite golfers (Phill and Tiger) and yet, the best part of the trip so far was when my kids got to meet Dora the Explorer, Spongbob Squarepants, Blue (From Blue's CLues) and Scooby-Doo.
